Building regulations (PART J) state that all window and door frames must have LOW E GLASS to comply with the new U-Value laws. At Fortress we go a couple of steps further as we also include ARGON GAS as standard in our glass units at no extra cost. This combination generates a U-Value of 1.6. The differnce between these glass units and standard double glazed units can save you a fortune in heating bills.

Scottish building regulations (PART J) requires all replacement windows have a WINDOW ENERGY RATING (WER) of 'B' or above. At fortress all our windows are glazed with PILKINGTON ENERGIKARE GLASS to achieve these requirements. This is also standard in our windows.
